At 3X Genetics Inc., we take our responsibility to protect patient rights seriously. This privacy policy (this “Privacy Policy”) explains what information 3X Genetics, Inc. (“3X Genetics”) collects from users of our website (“3X Web”) including our online patient portal and online partner portal (which is available to healthcare providers and test sponsors).

Please note, as a HIPAA compliant entity that is subject to our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, the collection, use and disclosure of protected health information through the 3X Web, is not addressed in this Privacy Policy. Instead, it is addressed in our Notice of Privacy Practices.

We may revise this Privacy Policy. If we decide to change our Privacy Policy, we will post the revised Privacy Policy on 3X Web. If changes significantly affect your rights under this Privacy Policy, we will make reasonable attempts to notify you before the changes become effective. Please note that our rights to use any information collected will be based on the privacy policy in effect at the time the information is used.

1. Information Protection

3X Genetics is committed to protecting your personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”). This includes your name and email address, and any other data that can be used to identify you. As such, 3X Genetics has deployed several technical and administrative safeguards to ensure your personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) is protected from unauthorized access, corruption or unintentional disclosure. Please be aware that, despite our best efforts, no security measures are completely impenetrable. Thus, we can’t guarantee against misuse.

2. Information Collection

Through third-party data analytics services (including Google Analytics), we collect visitor or user information, including your IP address and web log data. Further, we may collect information about the device you are using to access the 3X Web. If you choose to contact us through the 3X Web, we may collect your contact information, including your name and email address, or phone number so we can communicate with you. If you write a message, we will store the message so we can respond to you.

Account and Interaction Data

We may collect additional Personal Information that you voluntarily submit to 3X Genetics through the 3X Web, including information needed to open an account on our user portal. This information may include (1) username and password; (2) name, email address, telephone number, and your location address, business address, occupation.

Deidentified Data

WIth your consent, we share de-identified data with third parties, including other scientists, researchers, and therapeutic companies to accelerate patient discovery. advance scientific knowledge of GRE diseases, and to accelerate the development of therapeutics.

To fund testing, in some instances, deidentified patient data from multiple patients may be transmitted to a third party for commercial purposes. This data does not include any Personal Information. In such circumstances, 3X Genetics may send deidentified test results data to third parties for research or commercial purposes and 3X Genetics may be compensated for this service.

3. Information Use

If you are a patient, upon your consent, we may use your Personal Information to contact you about research opportunities, clinical treatments, or clinical trials. You can opt out of being contacted for research participation by contacting kevin@3xgenetics.com

We aggregate de-identified data from your Personal Information and the Personal Information of other patients. We may use and disclose the de-identified data to third parties as permitted by law and by your consent.

We may use your Personal Information to comply with legal or regulatory requirements, to respond to lawful requests, to prevent fraud, and to protect the security of the 3X Web.

4. Sharing your information

Without your consent, we do not knowingly sell, trade or otherwise share your Personal Information with any third parties, except as disclosed in this Privacy Policy and the HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, as required by law.

5. Cookies

We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to administer and optimize the 3X Web, analyze trends, track users’ movements around the Website, support security features on the 3X Web.

6. Social media

Upon clicking on 3X Web’s social media links (such as X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn), you will be directed to a third-party platform, and any information you share on those websites is not subject to this Privacy Policy.

The Website may contain links to other third-party websites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties and their other websites. This Privacy Policy applies only to the information we collect on or through the Website. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of other websites you link to or otherwise visit them.

8. Minors

3X Web is not intended for use by individuals under 14. If you learn that a child under 14 has provided us with Personal Information without consent, please contact us.

9. Data retention and destruction

We will retain Personal Information for as long as necessary to accomplish our purposes for such data as set forth in this Privacy Policy. You can request that your information be deleted by contacting us. At the time your information is deleted, we will destroy your Personal Information using reasonable data destruction practices.

10. Recontact for Research

For patients, 3X Genetics may collaborate with researchers to advance knowledge of GRE diseases and to develop new treatments. If there are opportunities to participate in research relevant to your test results 3X Genetics may contact you for consent to use your de-identified test results for the purpose of advancing research or treatment development. No compensation will be provided to study participants. People who undergo testing at 3X Genetics may choose not to be recontacted for research participation and may do so at any time by contacting kevin@3xgenetics.com
